Salinas Ukulele Club

We meet every Monday from 12 noon to 2:00 PM. Come spread the joy of making music

and sing along by yourself and in a group.

We accept newcomers who need to start from the basics.

We meet at Active Seniors, Inc., 100 Harvest St, Salinas CA 93901. Phone (831) 424-5066. (MAP). Check the current "Activity Schedule" on the home page to see what days and time the group will meet.

 

 A fee of $2/meeting for Active Seniors members, or $4 for non-members, is collected to help support the facility, not to support the club which is run by unpaid volunteers. Please bring exact cash. Membership dues for 2024 in Active Seniors are $35 per calendar year. Mid-year dues for new membership are prorated. All ages are welcome to join the club. If you have a ukulele, bring it. If not, we have loaners. Don't rush to buy one until you come to a meeting to learn what to look for when you buy a ukulele.

Tuesday Night Social Dance & Beginning Social Dance Lessons with Sera Hirasuna 

Social Dance & Dance Lesson

 

Come Dance With Us on Tuesday Evenings in Salinas 

 

Dance Lesson By Sera Hirasuna are from 6pm to 7pm.

The Dance Starts at 7pm and Ends at 8 pm 

 

Dance the Fox Trot, Cha Cha, Tango, Rumba, Waltz and Swing. 

Glide along a Beautiful Hardwood Floor to the Live Music of the Moon Glow Band.

We have Line Dancing/Lessons each Tuesday at ASI from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM. The cost is $2.00 for members and $4.00 for non-members

We also have Country Western Dancing/Lessons every Wednesday Night from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM. See the flyer at the left. The cost is $2.00 for members and $4.00 for non-members


Want more dancing? There is also Western Dancing on the 1st and 3rd Friday of each month from 7:00 PM to 9:30 PM. The cost is $4.00 for members and $8.00 for non-member.

CRIBBAGE CLUB

 

The cribbage players meets weekly on Wednesdays from 10AM til Noon.

 

 

QUILTERS

There are a lot of Quilters at ASI and they meet weekly to perfect their craft. Our ASI Quilters meet on the 1 st and 3 rd Thursday of each month.

This is a Western Line Dancing class and we also have weekly Social dancing, complete with a dance band.

BRIDGE CLUB

Folks also come to ASI to play Bridge and enjoy each other's fellowship.

If you are into fitness than ASI is the place for you at our weekly Yoga Class.

 

YOGA is good for all ages and a great way to keep your body flexible.

 

We now have 4 different Yoga classes: Robert's (meets W & F am), Witold's meets Mon. afternoon, Paula's Chair Yoga (meets Wed. afternoon) and "Gentle Yoga" (meets 2-5th Mon. late afternoons).  Something for every "body."

 

Due to COVID you must bring your own mat to each session and not leave the mat at ASI.

MAHJONG

 

ASI also has weekly Mahjong sessions where you can hone your skills at playing this challenging game.

TECHNOLOGY ASSISTANCE

On the 3rd Thursday of each month we have a Technology Assistance workshop, from 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM. We provide one-on-one instruction on Windows laptops, Macs, iPads, Smart Phones, etc.  If you are new to the digital age, write down your questions, bring your device, and come to the Technology Class to get your answers. Don't forget to bring your passwords so we can access your device(s).

Quarterly on the 4th Thursday we may have Technology Classes. 

 

LIBRARY

We also have a huge lending library, complete with audio books for those who have difficulty reading, as well as large print editions of various magazines.

We also have a magazine sharing center where you can leave and pickup magazines.
